Local ink promotion for newsXpress members

hotink-inhouse.jpgnewsXpress members participate in regular national campaigns promoting ink under our HOT ink! sub brand.  In between these national HOT ink! promotions, newsXpress members have access to professionally designed flyers which can be easily modified at the store level. newsXpress Reservoir has done this, setting local prices and producing a double sided flyer which looks like it has come from a professional printer.

Customising the newsXpress collateral takes a couple of minutes and can be done on just about any computer.

Christmas on show

The table displays change weekly as part of the commitment to keep the offer fresh.

Thanks to new Pert & Ryan fixtures, the St Clair team is better equipped to display these new gift lines.

From the golliwogs to the Cheeki bottles to the wooden toys, the range is broad, appealing and well located on their dance floor.

Plants and magazines sell well at newsXpress Young

young-plants-mags.jpgnewsXpress Young is enjoying good success in promoting plants with gardening magazines at the entrance to their business. The initiative is certainly paying dividends, they have sold 6500 plants over the last 12 months and lots of magazines from this front of store display.

newsXpress Business Development Managers see local store initiatives such as this in their visits and share them with other stores through email and their face to face visit cycle.  Connecting newsXpress stores by sharing ideas like the success at newsXpress Young is another part of the newsXpress difference.

Christmas in Pakenham

Covering the entire newsXpress Christmas range as well as the Hallmark Christmas card and gift range, the Christmas offer on the floor at Pakenham is bright, broad and appealing.

They are using some of the digital tools to create visual movement within the displays and thereby drive sales.

newsXpress Melton success with Christmas gifts

The stand, on one side of a column, is in a perfect location for impulse shopping.  The other side of the column offers the Hallmark recordable storybook range, another great success for newsXpress stores.

Both items appeal to similar shoppers.

The dogs and cats are particularly appealing because they brighten the store with colour and personality.  Customers love them!

Calendars at newsXpress Castle Towers

castletowers-calendars.jpgThe team at newsXpress Castle Towers has put together an excellent calendar outpost for the 2011 calendar season.  Featuring calendars from newsXpress preferred suppliers, this well laid out high traffic location outpost is sure to be a hit with shoppers visiting the Castle Towers shopping centre.

The newsXpress merchandise team helps members with calendar buying and layout advice to ensure that the full potential for the season is achieved.

knox-radio.JPGWhat a perfect way to promote newsXpress Radio and a hip Christmas gift!  Anthony at newsXpress Knox came up with the great idea is playing newsXpress radio through the DJ-Bears.  Mini speakers are located in the feet of the bears.

There is a cable running from the bear which can be connected to anything from an iPod to your computer to the newsXpress Radio reception box.

Promoting the DJ-Bears in this way enables us to run them as a counter offer and show how they work.  Customers are noticing!

Great Christmas gift sales at Mornington Central

morningtoncentral-christmas.JPGnewsXpress Mornington Central (VIC) is seeing good sales from its display of Christmas gifts featured in the newsXpress Merry Giftmas catalogue.  Early sales have been so good that some lines are close to selling out.

The Christmas gift display is located next to the lottery counter, in a highly visible location in the store.  It has been configured for easy browsing and shopping.  The proof is in the sales.

This year’s Christmas range selected by the newsXpress merchndise team is already selling well and the catalogues does not even hit until this week.

Great Christmas sales at Salamander Bay

salamander-christmas.jpgnewsXpress Salamander Bay (NSW) is reporting excellent sales of their home decorating items and gifts sourced from newsXpress preferred suppliers.  The display is situated in an excellent location on the dance floor and laid out in an enticing and shopper friendly display.  This is the first year that Salamander Bay has separated decorating gifts from other Christmas lines – sales are indicating that this is a good move.  Click on the image for a larger version of the photo.

newsXpress stores loving Cheeki bottles

cheekibottles.JPGnewsXpress launched the range of Cheeki stainless steel water bottles months ago and what a success they have been!  newsXpress store after store is reporting excellent sales, many reordering three and four times.  The sell through is extraordinary.

newsXpress has made Cheeki a success for members with range and merchandising advice, pricing which delivers an excellent margin to newsXpress members and with vital information to help team members sell the benefits of the Cheeki product.

We have deliberately not talked much about the extraordinary Cheeki bottle success enjoyed by newsXpress members as we know people visit here to copy our success stories.

What a great newsXpress story!  Kudos for newsXpress corporately, and our merchandise team in particular, in delivering the Cheeki initiative and excellent profit for members from a product line which was unexpected for a traditional newsagency business.

Yes, the Cheeki bottle story is the newsXpress difference in action.

Calendars selling well at Knox

knox-cal10.JPGnewsXpress Knox is having good success with calendars this year.  It is the store’s first year in this space since they opened a week before Christmas last year, too late for the pre Christmas calendar sales.

The stand in prime position on the dance floor is being replenished weekly as the Knox team develops an understanding of the different categories which appeal to shoppers in the Knox City Shopping Centre.

newsXpress Knox is following the newsXpress policy of not discounting calendars until after January 1.

Using the back of the stand

What an excellent fit!  Professional and clean in terms of use of the floor footprint. An excellent impulse purchase driver.

This back to back display stand configuration can be easily reversed, providing equal time (in both directions) to Australia’s two biggest publishers and their popular titles.
