The funeral for newsXpress member Garry Angus (of newsXpress Bendigo) will be held Thursday October 27, 2011 at 1:30PM at St. Kilian’s Catholic Church, McCrae Street, Bendigo.

The offers of support from newsXpress members and newsXpress suppliers have been overwhelming and heartwarming.

The funeral next Thursday provides an opportunity to remember a wonderful man who loved life and lit up the room.

More newsXpress members get together at the dinner which was part of the ACP Connections Conference in Sydney last week.  Networking is a key benefit of newsXpress membership and the ACP Connections conference provided an excellent opportunity for this.  It was terrific seeing newsXpress members socialising with each other between courses and the awards.  In the photo is Geoff Hilder from newsXpress Top Ryde City, Graham Randall newsXpress Director and Annie Lieu from newsXpress castle Towers.

Congratulations to newsXpress Gympie for taking out the Promotion of the Year Award and to newsXpress Harbour Town for taking our runner up position for the Newsagency of the Year Award.  Congratulations to newsXpress Ballarat for being announced a finalist in the Newsagency of the Year award.  This is wonderful and well deserved recognition for three quality newsagency businesses run by skilled, proactive and happy retailers and their teams.  They do the newsXpress brand proud.  Congratulations to everyone involved in these businesses!

The one day newsagency conference newsXpress hosted in Perth earlier this week was well attended and much appreciated based on feedback from participating newsagents and newsagency suppliers.  Sharing business building ideas and strategies, the conference showed off the newsXpress point of difference beautifully … showing how membership of newsXpress delivers a different and valuable experience to participating newsagents.  Welcoming new members in Western Australia to newsXpress was a real treat.

Congratulations to Jayden, a team member at our newsXpress Watergardens store has won Staff Member of the Month out of all of the retail team members in all businesses at the Watergardens Town Centre.  Our store manager nominated Jayden in recognition of his excellent customer service skills and how he performs as part of our team.  There is a small cash prize, a certificate and promotion in the centre newsletter.  Well done Jayden!

Jade Bunting has created and published a wonderful story about newsXpress Browns Plains and Terry Augustine as part of a series about Park Ridge State High School.

Some of the newsXpress employee team got together ahead of our Victorian members meeting at the Ernest Hillier chocolate facility in North Coburg yesterday. We were made most welcome by the Hillier team and given an excellent meeting room stocked with delicious chocolates including their whole Easter range. Note the large bunny on the shelf above the team. This is a chocolate lovers delight.
