Three days left for Back to Work

back_to_work_in_style.jpgAs the newsXpress Back to Work campaign nears its close, many stores are continuing to promote the deals and generating excellent entries in the competition to win a Toyota Yaris. At our own new corporate store, newsXpress Knox, we are enjoying success with this display at the front of the business. It is attracting good traffic and sales.

Back to Work works even outside the work environment. The artwork makes the offer visually appealing regardless of whether there is a shopper connection with work as such.

The feedback on the campaign has been excellent and is encouraging us to look for opportunities already for 2011.

newsXpress Carr’s Armidale prefers a Toyota Yaris

yaris-003.jpgnewsXpress Carr’s Armidale believes in bold corporate branding.  Their red Toyota Yaris can be seen around town doing the good work of a busy newsXpress business.  Branding a company vehicle is a brilliant way of taking the brand beyond the shop.  This makes the direct mail campaigns of newsXpress more meaningful since locals are more likely to have seen the brand.  That the Carr family chose a Toyota Yaris is fortuitous given that we are giving away a Toyota Yaris to one luck newsXpress customer as part of our Back To Work promotion in 2010.

Kudos to newsXpress Carr’s Armidale for their bold branding.  Everyone at newsXpress is thrilled with what they have done with their Yaris.

newsXpress Albany offers a $9,500 diamond prize

Interest in the promotion has been strong thanks to a stunning window display.

newsXpress works with its members on local promotions in addition to our national group-wide campaigns.  Our marketing team is a well of ideas and help to drive strong local businesses.

Professional newsletter from newsXpress

nx_newsletter_december.jpgnewsXpress has made available another professional newsletter for its members to customise and print locally.  The December INSTORE OFFERS newsletter promotes Hallmark Christmas sound cards, the new moon board game, Scotch gift paper cutters, our digital photo key ring special offer, Christmas magazine gift packs and our excellent 2010 calendar range.

The newslatter is truly innovative in the newsagency channel in that it represents the professionalism and buying power of a national group with the local connection of personalised store details.

Placed out the front of newsXpress locations, this newsletter is helping newsXpress members drive traffic and sales.  We have received excellent feedback of how the newsletter is working well on these fronts.

This INSTORE OFFERS newsletter is another example of newsXpress innovation.  It is provided to our members free each month.

newsXpress Eli Waters at the new moon opening

nx_eliwaters_tw.JPGnewsXpress Eli Waters was invited by their nearby cinema to operate a Twilight merchandise business in the cinemas as part of their opening celebrations for the new moon movie last week. The display of newsXpress sourced merchandise generated good sales on the night and follow up sales in the shop days later. The initiative was reported on TV with Alan from newsXpress Eli Waters featuring in the story.

Initiative like this is great for newsXpress members and for our brand nationally.

newsXpress Pakenham in the news

newsxpress_pakenham.jpgnewsXpress Pakenham made the pages of their local newspaper with a story about a great competition win for a customer.  Melanie Smith won the full Harry Potter chess set valued at $462.  Rowan and Dianne Higgon at newsXpress Pakenham put asise each issue of this special part series over months to create a prize. The competition was run as part of their recent relaunch following considerable modifications to their business. This is excellent business initiative.

Christmas stocking stuffer collateral

This new collateral visually connects with the A1 Merry Giftmas posters we sent out a few weeks ago.  It is designed specifically for displays of lower priced Christmas gift items - some of which featured in the catalogue distributed to homes around newsXpress stores a week ago.

newsXpress recognises the importance of refreshing offers through the Christmas season.

Spring Racing Carnival marketing

newsXpress has sourced marketing collateral for members keen to dress their stores for the popular Spring Racing Carnival.  This collateral and other support from newsXpress and newsXpress suppliers will help participating newsXpress locations have fun with the carnival socially and commercially.

While not a major season in the overall scheme of the newsagency year, this Spring racing carnival support is another way newsXpress helps members connect with all interests in their customer community.

STOCKTAKE SALE at newsXpress Castle Towers

Massive book sale at newsXpress Roselands

Sensational STOCKTAKE SALE collateral

In addition to a pack of 24 double sided posters, newsXpress members have been provided with four page brochures and an implementation strategy.

Posters were provided free to newsXpress members.  Brochures had a small cost - newsXpress contributed to the cost of these as well.

The reaction from newsXpress newsagents to the STOCKTAKE SALE marketing collateral has been excellent.  They love the professionalism of the material and the direct and clear pitch being made.

The STOCKTAKE SALE provides newsXpress members with an excellent opportunity to move old stock and other stock purchased in especially for the event.   Packaged in with the event is several offers which enhance the value offered by our stores.  These range from free resume printing, to discounts on magazines and free wrap with a qualifying greeting card purchase.

This STOCKTAKE SALE is further evidence of newsXpress pursuing non-traditional and exciting opportunities for newsagents.  While we continue to support traditional seasons, we are more and more creating new opportunities for newsagents.

newsXpress newsagents are busy promoting their businesses and refusing to get sidetracked by stories of doom and gloom.

Promoting State of Origin at Eli Waters

eli_waters_nx.jpgThe team at newsXpress Eli Waters embraced the Rugby State of Origin with this brilliant in-store display.  They used the newsXpress provided marketing collateral as a background and built a stunning display based on team colours.  The result is excellent in-store theatre which connects the business with local allegiances.

Everyone involved at Eli Waters ought to be very proud of the display.

newsXpress provides its members with access to a range of marketing collateral for all sorts of events and seasons.  Material like our Rugby World Cup posters is provided to members without cost.  There is no obligation for members to promote non-core seasons - these are decisions best made at the local level.

The photo shows Shayne and Roslyn Clarke of newsXpress Cooma with a happy customer receiving her free Sony digital camera.  This is a scene repeated across the country in newsXpress locations.  Our members appreciate promotions liks this where a local customer is the winner - this reinforces our local connection.

Sensational marketing collateral supporting ink and toner offer

newsxpress_hot_ink.JPGnewsXpress has released sensational marketing collateral supporting the latest HOT Ink! ink and toner campaign being run in newsXpress outlets.

The marketing collateral, provided free to participating newsXpress members, includes double sided colour A2 posters (10 per store - 250GSM double sided gloss paper) , colour shelf labels and colour shelf talkers for feature products.

This collateral connects with the colour A4 flyers printed for newsXpress members to distribute to homes and businesses around their stores.

The artwork is a departure from the traditional pricelist type flyer used by newsagents for ink.   We tested this approach last time and the consumer reaction was excellent.

It is rare that newsagents have access to such professional and cohesive marketing collateral connecting a campaign from the stock shelves through the store and out to consumer letterboxes and even rarer that such high quality collateral is provided free of charge.

Supporting Mother’s Day

mothers_day_newsxpress.jpgIn addition to the terrific marketing collateral and Sony Camera (as a customer prize) we have arranged from Hallmark Cards to support Mother’s Day, we have produced this poster for use elsewhere in our newsXpress locations.  We know from consumer research that some need a reminder of the day.  This poster achieves that in a natural feel-good way. It is a credit to our internal marketing team.

We have newsXpress members using this poster to support their Mother’s Day gift offer while others use it to promote Mother’s Day at the counter.  Either way, it is proving to be a useful extention to newsXpress marketing collateral.

That’s Life gives $1,000 to a newsXpress customer

A lucky customer at newsXpress Robina won $1,000 courtesy of That’s Life as part of their random acts of kindness promotion.

This is a terrific way for That’s Life magazine to engage with newsagents and with their readers.  We are thrilled to have been part of such a happy giveaway this week.

That’s Life is a popular weekly magazine and is given pride of place in newsXpress stores across Australia when it goes on-sale each Wednesday.

Buying That’s Life at a newsXpress newsagency is rewarding thanks to our newsXpress Magazine Club Card - the card which rewards you for buying magazines from newsXpress outlets.

Customers responding to newsXpress coupons

nx_coupons.jpgnewsXpress members are reporting a good response to the call to action coupons on the latest HOT Ink! flyer.  Redeeming the coupons, customers are able to go beyond the very competitive pricing on the flyer.  This is another way newsXpress is positioning the brand with a differentiating value proposition.

We understand that we need to keep innovating to find new customers for our members.  This month’s coupon offer will evolve in the next HOT Ink! flyer.  What will not change is our commitment to brand - in this marketplace, brand is important as it represents value in the minds of consumers.  This is why we boldly support HP, Canon, Epson and brother.
